Göran Roos is a practical business expert who understands what it takes for companies to succeed in high-cost operating environments like Australia. Having worked with hundreds of businesses across 50 countries, including many family-owned enterprises, he brings real-world experience in helping companies adapt and thrive in challenging conditions.
As a former Manufacturing Thinker in Residence for the South Australian Government and member of the Prime Minister's Manufacturing Leaders Group, Göran has deep insights into the Australian business landscape. He has worked extensively with local companies to help them innovate, grow, and successfully transition through changing market conditions.
His expertise is particularly relevant for family businesses facing today's challenges: digital transformation, sustainability requirements, rising costs, and increasing global competition. Having served on the boards of several successful family companies, including Seeley International, he understands firsthand the unique dynamics of family-owned enterprises.
Göran's practical approach combines business model innovation, strategic thinking, and value creation - helping companies find new ways to compete beyond just price. His work with Australian food producers, manufacturers, and service businesses has helped them develop higher-value products and services, access new markets, and build sustainable competitive advantages.
He holds a PhD from University of South Australia, an MBA from INSEAD (France), a Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Management Consultancy from Henley Management College (UK) and a MSc in Engineering Physics from Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden). However, his real strength lies in translating complex business concepts into practical strategies that work for Australian conditions.
Currently advising companies and government bodies on industry development and business transformation, Göran focuses on helping businesses adapt to the digital economy while maintaining their core strengths and values - an especially important balance for family enterprises.
His straight-talking, results-focused approach has made him a trusted advisor to business owners and managers looking to secure their companies' futures in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
