Featured as one of Harvard Business Review’s Top 10 Must Reads for 2024, Megan developed the Gentelligence® concept to help organisations change the way they approach generational differences.
Gentelligence assists family businesses in transforming generational differences into strategic advantages. This approach emphasises that each generation brings unique perspectives, skills, and experiences that can strengthen the business when leveraged effectively.
In this session, you will learn how the four practices of Gentelligence can help: remove roadblocks that interfere with intergenerational collaboration, improve succession planning through enhanced intergenerational understanding, and enhance innovation by blending traditional wisdom with new perspectives. Additionally, Gentelligence can build stronger client relationships across age groups, foster greater mutual respect between generations, and facilitate more effective knowledge transfer between senior and junior family members.

Megan W. Gerhardt, Ph.D. is a Professor of Management and Leadership at the Farmer School of Business at Miami University. Megan speaks and consults with top organisations around the world on ways to leverage generational diversity in the workplace. In addition to her academic research in the areas of leadership and individual differences, she is author of the book Gentelligence: A Revolutionary Approach to Leading an Intergenerational Workforce. Her Gentelligence work has been showcased as Harvard Business Review’s Big Idea in March 2022 and was also chosen as one of Harvard Business Review’s Top 10 Must Reads for 2024. Megan’s work on leveraging generational diversity has also been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, NBC News, The Washington Post, and CNN, among others.
