The Perinatal & Infant Mental Health Conference
Co-hosted by Marcé Society Australasian Chapter and Australian Association for Infant Mental Health
4 – 6 September 2025
Pullman Melbourne Albert Park
The Australasian Marcé Society for Perinatal Mental Health and the Australian Association for Infant Mental Health (AAIMH) are proud to collaborate for the first time to present a 3-Day Conference for health professionals working with expectant parents, families with newborns, young children, caregivers, and researchers contributing to the evidence for best-practice perinatal and infant mental health care. This event will bring together two leading organisations dedicated to advancing research, practice, and understanding in the fields of perinatal and infant mental health.
The Australasian Marcé Society for Perinatal Mental Health is a not-for-profit, interdisciplinary organisation committed to supporting quality research, education, and care for prenatal and postpartum mental health. Its focus extends to understanding the mental health and well-being of mothers, fathers, infants, and families during the critical perinatal period. The Society fosters collaboration between researchers, clinicians, and consumers to promote evidence-based practices that improve perinatal mental health outcomes and early parenting support.
The Australian Association for Infant Mental Health (AAIMH) is a highly engaged organisation with over 500 members across all states and territories of Australia. Dedicated to promoting the mental health and well-being of infants and young children (0-3 years) and their families, AAIMH provides a platform for professionals across disciplines to share knowledge and advocate for the importance of secure and nurturing relationships during early childhood. Its work encompasses education, research, and policy advocacy to improve practices and systems supporting infant mental health.
This conference attracts local, national, and international delegates and will serve as a space for open and practical conversations about the challenges and opportunities in perinatal and infant mental health care. Topics will include the parent/caregiver-infant relationship, attachment, the psycho-biology of pregnancy, early parenting, culturally responsive care, and workforce development. By bringing together the knowledge and experience of the Australasian Marcé Society and AAIMH, this event aims to spark meaningful connections and create lasting improvements in support for families across Australasia.
